Does classical music move you? Join the club!
The course will take you from the basics (what is “classical” music?) all the way through to different types of compositions, periods such as Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romanticism, Modernism (amongst others) and their manifestation in music and art in general.
Our teacher Duncan Griffin has an Honours Degree in Music from Plymouth University. He has performed regularly at the Royal Festival Hall with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Barbican Centre with the London Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Albert Hall with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and at St James’ Piccadilly with Voices Chamber Ensemble.
He has sung under internationally recognised conductors such as Bernard Haitink, Franz Welser-Möst and Owain Arwel Hughes. He specialises in singing the music of the Renaissance and Baroque periods and is obsessed with Handel! In addition to singing, he plays the clarinet, oboe and piano.
